Gold Rush Party!

First, a dinner of "salt pork, beans and cornbread" -
modern day translation...cornbread muffins,
baked beans and turkey bacon. :)
Panning for gold!
Believe it or not, once someone found some
(rocks spray painted gold)
it DID INDEED start a gold rush,
for EVERYONE picked up where they
were panning and moved to wherever
gold had been found! OVER AND OVER
this happened...great teaching moment!
Afterward, I set up a bank and they
weighed each teams gold and
exchanged it for money.
Then, while the kids played, I set up
a Mercantile at which they were able
to shop for the "goods" they wanted.

This was GREAT FUN!!
